THE CHAMPIONSHIPS. By Telegraph.—Press Association Gisborne, Last Night. People’s Day at the A. and P. show to-day was held under unfavorable weather conditions, though the attendance did not suffer to any very appreciable extent, about five thousand being present. There was good competition in all classes, and keen interest in the competitions, especially the jumping events. The championships were awarded as follows:

Draughts.—Entire, C. 'Sewell; mare. A. G. Turnbull.

Cattle.—Shorthorn bull, T. Holden cow, Ralph Murphy. Polled Argus bull, D. S. Cameron. Hereford bull, Hutchinson Bros, cow, C. Field.

Pedigree Jersey bull, Rev. E. Ward; cow, G. R. Moore.

Pedigree Friesian bull, L. J. O'Flaherty; cow, D. J. Barry.
