BOXING.
THE RECENT TOURNAMENT. A meeting of the committee of the Taranaki Boxing Association was held on Tuesday i/ght, when Mr. E. Whittle (chairman) presided over a good attendance»of members. The secretary submitted an interim balancesheet, which indicated that the tournament would show a profit. It was resolved to place on record the association's appreciation of Mr. R. Day’s services in suggesting the improved arrangement for seating accommodation at the Coronation Hall. It was also resolved to forward a letter tc the captain of the Essex expressing appreciation of Mr. S. Wilson’s action in coming forward to fill a gap in the heavyweight contest. [ Mr. Howell submitted a report on the l housing accommodation at the Coronation ’ Hall. It was resolved to thank him for the I report, and a committee consisting of Messrs. | Jackson, Howell and the chairman was set up Ito go into various matters. The secretary (Mr. E. Clarke) reported on the boxing tournament at the Scout sports, stating that it was well conducted, and some likely taient was shown. Appreciative reference was also made to the action of Mr. L. Cadman in acting as referee at the tournament.
