A London cable message reports the death of Mr. John B. Dunlop, Inventor of the pneumatic tyre. Mr. R. D. Climie, formerly engineer of the Taranaki County Council, has been appointed engineer to the Inglewood County Council.
The Hawke’s Bay Presbytery yesterday decided to nominate the Rev. W. J. Comrie, formerly of Hastings, and now of Wellington, as moderator of the assembly for 1922-23. —Press Association. A Wanganui wire received last night stated that Lord and Lady Jellicoe arrived there that night. His Excellency plays cricket to-day and attends some local functions of an informal nature.
Mr. John Stevenson retiree from the position of manager of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Wanganui, at the end of the present year. Mr. Stevenson has held this position for over 40 years, and has been appointed adviser to the company at Wanganui. Mr. J. A. Adams, head bill clerk, Bank of Australasia, Wellington, for many years, and formerly of the New Plymouth staff, has been promoted to the management of the Levin branch of the bank. Mr. F. G. Kimbell, who has been manager of the bank for the past two years, and who purposed visiting England, has cancelled his leave for the present, and will take up another appointment shortly. Mr. Kimbell is at present at the head office in Wellington.
