VOYAGE OF THE QUEST.
DEPARTURE FROM LISBON. ONE OF THE BOY SCOUTS ILL. London, Oct. 11. The Quest sailed from Lisbon yesterday in perfect order after repairs. The following messages were received from Sir Ernest Shackleton when he was at Lisbon: — “The Quest will sail on Monday. It has been decided to take Scout Mooney (who had been ill since leaving England, and was to have returned) to Madeira, hoping that his health will improve. He has been continuously sick and seasick, but always willing. The doctors say he is not strong enough to undertake the whole voyage.” “The Quest is now ready for sea. We only await the shifting of the strong north-wester, which is still- blowing. Though the Quest was deeply laden and heavily strained by the strong gales prior to making Lisbon, she proved a splendid sea-boat. Her rigging and backstays suffered, and her engines knocked heavily, necessitating a reduction of speed. Some petrol was washed overboard. Scout Marr has taken to the job like a duck to water. The rest of the crew is well, with the exception of Scout Mooney. Mr. Wilkins, the biologist, secured a wonderful film of the ship in the very heart ot the storm.
