PUBLIC NOTICES. OPUNAKE ELECTRIC-POWER DISTRICT. SPECIAL LOAN OF £70,000. pUBLIC NOTICE is -hereby given that the Opunake Electric-Power Board proposes to borrow the sum of £70,000 by way of Special Loan under the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913. The particular purposes for which the loan is required are:— To purchase the Hydro-Electric works now in course of construction, and in payment of the liabilities of the Opunake Town Board in respect of the same,— £7OOO. To- complete the Head works, construct Pipe-line, Power-house, Tail-race, provide Hydraulic and Electrical Machinery, and Electrical reticulation of the Opunake Electric-power District.— £49,000. x To provide buildings, tools and equipment. — £2OOO. To pay preliminary and other expenses as allowed by Section S 9 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, and amendments, also the interest and sinking fund during period of construction.— £12,000. The sum proposed to be borrowed is £70,000. As security for payment of ’interest and sinking fund it is proposed to make a special rate on all ratable property within the Opunake Electric-power District sufficient to meet such interest and sinking fund payments, and 10 per centum more than such payments. The loan to have a currency of 364 years. It is proposed to pay out of loan moneys preliminary and other expenses authorised under Section of “The •Electric-power Boards Act, 1918,” and amendments, also the cost of raising the loan, and interest and sinking fund of the loan during the period of construction of the works.
