LONDON MARKETS. By Telegraph.—Tress Assn.—Copyright. London, Oct. 19. At the free wool sales there were very small offerings, excepting for combings. There was less bidding for merinos, but prices were maintained. Home and French buyers competed for the crossbreds. At the tallow sales 1051 casks were offered and 400 sold. Low Sorts were unchanged; others declined 2s to' 3s. Mutton, fine 535, medium 465; beef, fine 545, medium 465. Shares.—Waihi Junction, 7s 3d and 7s lOd; P and 0., £335 and £355. Berlin Exchange, 640. The Commonwealth loan of £5,000,000 at 6 per cent., at a minimum of £96 is being underwritten. POULTRY MARKET. Messrs. L. A. Nolan and Co. report that at their mart yesterday hens realised 3b 6d to G’. 3d. cockerels 3s to 7s 6d, ducks 4s to 4s 9d, chickens rto 9d. NEW PLYMOUTH HAYMARKET. Very few pigs were penned at Messrs. Newton King, Ltd.’s New Plymouth haymarket yesterday. Weaners made up to 18s„ slips to 255, stores 37s 6d, heifer calves from 5s to 183 ADDINGTON STOCX MARKET. GOOD SALE FOR STORE CATTLE. Christchurch, Oet. 19. At the Addington market to-day there were average yardlngs of all classes of stock, except beef, which was in over-supply. Store Sheen.— X more spirited sale, all classes, especially ewes and lambs selling better. Good 6-tooth ewes and lambs 13s Id, fair 4 and 6-tooth ewes and lambs 12s Id, aged ewes and lambs 8s 9d to Ils sd, good 4 and 6-tooth half-bred wethers 7s 7d to 14s 6d, 6 and 8-tooth wethers 12s 4d, 4-tooth 13s 4d, cull 4,6, and 8-tooth wethers 8s 3d to 9s 6d, mixed sex hoggets 9s 3d, fair ewe lambs 12s 2d, small talfbred wether lambs 10s 3d.

Spring Lambs.—Only 185 were penned, compared with 300 last week. The entry was mostly well grown, and sold at up to 34s per head, practically all realising from 25s to 30s. Fat Sheep.—A slightly larger yarding than last week. The demand was firm throughout, a slight advance taking place. Extra prime wethers 28s 6d to 31s, prime 24s to 28s, medium 20s 6d to 23s 9d, light and unfinished 17s 3d to 20s, extra prime ewes 25s 4d, prime 19s 9d to 245, medium 17s 6d to 19s 6d, light and unfinished 15s 9d to 17s 3d, prime hoggets 19s to 22s 6d, ordinary 12s 6d to 18s 9d. Fat Cattle.—An over-supply, comprising 320 head. Prices further eased by about 20s to 25s per head, prime beef selling at about 34s to 36s per 1001 b, prime steers £l3 5s to £l6 15s, medium £lO to £l3, light and unfinished £6 10s to £9 17s 6d, extra prime heifers £l3 5s to £l4, prime £8 15s to £ll 6s 6d, light and unfinished £7 2s 6d to £8 12s 6d, extra prime cows £l3 7s 6<l, prime £7 15s to £9 15s, ordinary £5 to £7 10s. Vealers. —Runners £4 15s, good vealers £3 5s to £3 17s 6d, medium £2 to £3, small calves 5s to £1 10s.

Store Cattle. —The best sale for some months, all young stock selling freely. Good yearling heifers £3 15s to £4 16s, poor conditioned cows !u,d heifers £2 2s 6d, good two-year-old steers £5 ss, good three-ycar-olds £G 2s 6d, poor-conditioned steers and heifers £2 2s 6d, bulls 27s 6d to £5 10s. Dairy Cattle. —A good demand for cows shewing milking qualities. Extra good second and third calvers £2l, good springers £lO to £l6, extra good heifers £l6 10s, good springing heifers £6 to £l2 10s, inferior cows in milk £1 to £5 10b, newly-calved cows with calves £9 to £l2 10s.

Fat Pigs.—A fair demand. Choppers £3 to £5, light baconers £4 5s to £4 15s, heavy £5 to £5 15s (average price per lb 7%d), light porkers £2 15s to £3 10s, heavy £3 10k to £2 18s, medium £2 to £2 3s, small £1 10s to £1 18s, good weaners 23s to 275, 15s to £4 (average price per lb 9%d to lOd). Store Figs.—Values eased. Large stores £2 smaller 17s to 20s.
