TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. TOURNAMENT TO-MORROW NIGHT. The Taranaki Boxing Association’s big tournament takes place in the Coronation Hall, New Plymouth, to-morrow night. The stage for the ring has been erected in the middle of the hall, and there will be ample seating accommodation provided for patrons. In the middle-weight professional championship between Laurie Cadman, of Auckland (challenger) and Jack Heeney, of Gisborne (holder), the association are staging a bout that is arousing interest throughout the Dominion, not only on account of it being for the championship, but also on .account of ’he two contestants being the best at the weight that the Dominion has at the present time. The purse is £2OO, which includes expenses. Cadman is right at the top of his form, and Heeney is stated to be in the pink of condition. and both sides will not hear of defeat.
