THE PEOPLE’S. ' MABEL NORMAND IN “PINTO.” j In “Pinto,’ commencing to-night at i the People’s, Mabel Normand appears ' for the first time in the ro’le of a Western cow-girl, a rip-snorting, devil-rais-ing Buckaroo in skirts. She’s a tornado of fight and frolic, and when she roughrides her way into Eastern society, and stampedes a crowd of monoefed Montys and lorgnetted Lizzies in her wild and woolly way, she'll make ’em howl with joy. ’ She is the funniest, friskiest deb that ever “came out,” for she debuted to the tune of a smoking 45 and a twirling' lasso. Fun? Speed? Thrills? Say, you never saw anything like it before. The bill includes “Diamond Queen,” gazettes, and comedy. EVERYBODY'S. LAST NIGHT OF “THE OTHER HALF.” To-night concludes the local season of “The Other Half,” a drama of human values built on the theme of mass and class, featuring Florence Vidor and Zasu Pitts, a story of pathos and humor, with a touch of jazz. The bill includes gazettes, comedy, and “The Invisible Hand.” GEORGES CARPENTIER TOMORROW. Georges Carpentier, heavyweight chaftipion of Europe, stars in “The Wonder Man” at Everybody’s Theatre to-mor-row night. In “The Wonder Man,” Carpentier is shown in fighting togs -for the first time in this country. The story is based on an intriguing romance of the elite of Washington society in which Carpentier is called upon to defend his honor in the fashionable Potomac club’s boxing ring. His ability as the foremost contender for the world’s championship is evidenced in the contest. One of the most surprising features of the picture is the versatility of Carpentier. In the role of a gentleman, of a fighter, and of a daring exponent of right, he displays talent worthy of a screen artist of the first magnitude. The prowess of Georges Carpentier, idol of France and heavyweight champion of Europe, is admir- ! ably illustrated in the four-round bout which forms the gripping climax of “The Wonder Man.” The box plans are now’ open at Collier's.
