Due November. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa arrived from Onehunga at an early hour yesterday morning and berthed at 5.30 a.m. The vessel brought 25 passengers and 130 tons of cargo. The Rarawa sailed again at 8.30 p.m. for Onehunga, and is due her? again to-inorrow. ESSEX ARRIVES. The liner Essex arrived at New Plymouth direct from Newcastle at 4 o’clock yesterday. The vessel comes under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Company to load meat and sundries for the United Kingdom. At the time of her arrival yesterday the tide was at full ebb, and as the vessel was drawing about 24 feet. Captain Waller decided to anchor her in the stream to await a more favorable tide early this morning. The Essex is it vessel of 8722 tons gross roister, and is in command of Captain Hughes. The cargo from this port will consist of 29,400 carcases of meat, 220 bales of wool, 800 cages of preserved meat, and 100 casks of tallow.

KARAMU TO-DAY. The Karamu has been delayed at Wellington, and was scheduled to leave. there at 6 o’clock last evening for New Plymouth, where she should arrive to-day. RAMA FROM WELLINGTON. Messrs. Collett and Co., Ltd., advise that the Rama is expected to leave Wellington at 3 o'clock to-day for New Plymouth with general cargo. She should arrive here at about 1 p.m. to-morrow. WHANGAPE TO-MORROW. The Union Steam Ship Company’s vVhangape is expected to arrive from Newcastle to-mor-row with about 600 tons of railway metal to discharge. It is doubtful if the Whangape will be able to berth until the Essex sails, as her draught may be too great to take the inner berth. She is a vessel of 2931 tons, and has a wireless installation. lONIC FROM HOME. The S.S. and A. liner lonic is expected to leave Southampton for New Zealand por;s today. She should arrive on the New Zealand coast towards the end of November. WAITEMATA FROM THE EAST. The Waitemata is due at Wellington on Monday from Auckland with Calcutta and I Singapore cargo for discharge. £82,500 STEAMER IN 1919 NOW SOLD FOR £9,000. The 25-year-old steamer Kinsale, of Cardiff. 4,115 tons deadweight, purchased by a Cardiff firn- in 1919 for £82.500 and sold by them the foilowing year for £50,000 to the Bri-tish-Hispano Line, Ltd., has been by the last-named to Italian buyers for £9,ooo—a depreciation from £2O to £2 a ton in value in a couple of years. “The :tl-year-old steamer Temaire, 550 tons deadweight, which changed hands eighteen months ago at £45,000 and six months later at £33,500, has been sold to the Mlzek Shipping Co., Ltd., Cardiff, for less than £lO,OOO, or £lB a ton, as against. £B2 per ton 18 months ago,’’ says the Daily Mail.
