NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP. DOUGLAS WINS THE OPEN. THE COMPLETE SCORES, By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The New Zealand golf championship tournament was continued on the Shirley links today in fine weather. As anticipated, E. S. Douglas (Miramar) won the open and professional championships. This morning he was somewhat off liis game, taking 83 to go round, but in the afternoon he was back to form and returned a card of 73. He missed three easy putts under two feet, otherwise he would have equalled his record round of 70 on the opening day. Scores:—

DOMINION ASSOCIATION. NEXT TOURNAMENT AT PALMERSTON, Christchurch, Last Night. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Golf Association a complete new set of rules was adopted, the principal -new rule being that the affairs of the association be managed by a council of seven members resident in or conveniently near Wellington, the headquarters of the association. The rules also provided for an appeal committee of five, sitting for three years, such committee not necessarily to be members of the council. The following new council was elected: Messrs. M. C. Burnett, R. C. Kirk, A. Duncan, J. B. McEwan, A F* Roberts, A. J. Abbott, W. E. A. Gill. It was decided to recommend the council that the next championship meeting be held on the Manawatu Club’s course at Palmerston North. NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. LADIES’ CLOSING DAY. The ladies of the New Plymouth Golf Club held the closing matches of the season yesterday. The following were the scores:— A Grade.—Miss Thompson. lOS—lB—9o - Miss Rundle, 106—9—97; Mrs. Johns 114 -1 15—99. B grade: Mrs. Perry 1, Mrs. Hill 2. Approaching.—A Grade: Mrs. Pearless I Miss Bremer 2. B grade: Mrs. Barthorp 1' Mrs. Perry 2. Putting—A grade: Miss Rundle and Miss Ereaner tied, the prize going to Miss Bremer. B grade: Miss Foote and Mrs. Perry tied, the prize going to Miss Foote. The prizes tor the above competitions were donated by Mrs. Perry, Miss Rollo, and Mr Hasell.
