RACING COMMISSION.

MORE DEPUTATIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 17. Delegates from the Country Racing Clubs’ Association waited on the Prime Minister this morning to protest against the recommendations of the Racing Committee. Mr. Bruce, president, said that if the recommendations were adopted as a whole 16 country clubs would be wiped out of Existence. He suggested that the Minister of Internal Affairs should allocate additional country club permits, but that the fourth schedule which named the clubs from which the commission thought permits should be withdrawn should be deleted. Mr. Massey said the report must be presented to Parliament, but what Parliament would do with it he could not say. His own opinion was that the report would have a stormy passage, but by that did not mean that it would not get through in some form or other.
