THE HIGH SCHOOLS.
MEETING OF GOVERNORS. The monthly meeting of the New Plymouth High Schools’ Board was held last night. Present: Messrs. J. S. Fox (chairman), L. A. Nolan, F. W. Atkinson, H. Trimble, A. E. Washer, and Dr. E. F. Fookes. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs. S. G. Smith, M.P., L. C. Siad den, E. P. Webster, and A. Morton. Before the business was proceeded with, the chairman congratulated the board on at last being able to afford a good board room. In recent years they had had a varied experience in the matter of accommodation, 'but they had been a happy family, and he hoped that he would continue to have the support of members as in the past. Reporting upon the pianos in use at the boys’ school. Mr. W. H. Moves (headmaster) mentioned that since arrival of Mr. Dobson there had been a marked improvement in the music of the school. Miss Mclntosh reported that the roll numbers at the girls’ school remained unaltered, namely 146 in the upper room axul in the srewatory*
