GANG OF JEWEL THIEVES.

"HIGH SOCIAL STANDING.” By Telegraph —Press Assn.—Copyrlgtt. Received Oct. 17. 5.5 p.m. London, Oct. 16. The police have unearthed a plot showing that an organised gang of jewel thieves has begun operations in London. The gang includes men and women known to have education, ability and super-cunning. Investigations of recent large robberies resulted in sensational revelations and proof that the thieves were directed by men of high social standing, some actually in court circles. Their identity is well known, but it is impossible at present to secure convicting evidence. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
