Herr Guertler, the new Minister of Finance, speaking in the National Assembly. outlined a far-reaching programme of effort to restore the financial situation in Austria. He proposes gradually to reduce and abolish the food subsidies and to reorganise the administration. reducing the number of officials. The State is also to take a share jn export industries and to issue an internal loan on the basis proposed by the League of Nations. It is hoped these, with minor measures, will bring the bank-note printing presses to a standstill.
