ATHLETICS.

NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. The wisdom of extending the closing date for receiving entries for the New Plymouth Club's uneeting has been proved b< the very satisfactory response received from competitors. All the open events have filled excellently. entries being received from Hawera, Wanganui and Palmerston North. The open championship, 100 yards, has also filled well. The primary, preparatory and secondary school events have produced record entries, and some keen competition is assured in these and the two relay races. Handicaps will appear in to-morrow’s issue.
