GAOL FOR A “KING”.
A COMIC OPERA KINGDOM. By Telegraph.—Press Asm.—Copyright. Received Oct. 16, 5.5 p.m. Paris, Oct. 15. The Nice Court fined Lafarge five hundred francs for assuming spukioua titles and sentenced him to five kaonths' imprisonment for attempted swindling. Lafarge, who is a native of assumed the title of Prince De Vitanval, and had himself crowned King of Transcaucasia. He notified the great Powers of his accession and applied for the admission of his kingdom to the League of Nations. He gave French shopkeepers orders totalling three million franca, including a gold crown and sceptre, and ermine robes for himself and his queen. When arrested he possessed a few francs, and explained hia lack of cash was due to the finanrial stringency from which the whole world was suffering.
