THE AUSTRALIAN MEETING. By Telegraph.—Frees Assn —Copyright. Sydney, Oct. 14. The absence of British and New Zealand teams from the rifle meeting robs it of its international aspect. NEW PLYMOUTH SEASON. The opening day of the New Plymouth Rifle Club’s season, postponed from last Saturday, will be held to-day. On Labor Day a handicap competition for trophies will be fired, ranges 300, 500 and 600 yards. A match between the Kaponga Rifle Club (holders) and the Hawera Rifle Club (challengers) for the Taranaki Rifle Clubs’ Challenge Shield will be fired at Kaponga next week.
