DAIRY STOCK FOR JAVA.
(To the Editor.)
•Sir, —I notice in your locals of the 10th a paragraph alluding to the loss of a steamer carrying uairy stock from New Zealand to Java, and also the loss of Mr. Der Boor, the owner of the cattle. I may state I was one of the men in charge going across, and we had perfect weather, and landed the cattle in first-class order. When I left Java to come back, Mr. Der Boor was at Soerabaya, so he would hardly have time to come out again and collect another shipload, especially as I have only been back three weeks. " Your information may have been culled from an old report of the loss of a steamer shortly after we left New Zealand. —I am, etc., N. F. THORPE. Stratford, October 11.
