WEST END SCHOOL.
GRAND ENTERTAINMENT. For several weeks past the pupils of the West End School have been assiduously practising for a grand entertainment, which is to be given on Wednesday and Thursday, October 19 and 20, in aid of the West End School funds. The programme to be submitted is a varied one, and those who have been privileged to attend any of the rehearsals are enthusiastic in their praise of the various items. Mr. Jack Hoskin has the arrangements in hand, and when it is stated that he is assisted in the preparation by such well-known enter - tiners.as Messrs. J. Lovell and T. Petty, one need not doubt its success. Some of the features to” be submitted are spectacular dances by the girls, and a Christy minstrel show by the boys, under the capable tuition of Mr. J. Lovell. The side talk and witticism in this, are said to be remarkably good. Vocal solos and duets, instrumental items, recitations and a farce help to make up a programme that should prove decidedly entertaining. The prices of admission are 2/- and 1/-, children half price. Reserves will be 6d extra. The date of opening the office bookings will be announced later.
