In the House this afternoon Mr. Massey stated, he would on next move for .the issue of the writ in connection with the vacancy in the Auckland East seat, caused by the resignation of the Hon. A. M. Myers, That did not mean that the election would be held at once, but his instruction to the department was that the date of the election should be fixed so as to avoid undue haste on the one hand and undue delay on the other.
