Present indications are for northerly winds strong to gale, backing by west to south northward of Kawhia and Napier, strong south to south-easterlies prevailing elsewhere. Skies cloudy to overcast and heavy rain probable generally, with snow on the high levels in the south; colder conditions soon. The barometer has a falling tendency in the north, but is rising everywhere shortly.
