The United States Shipping Board has severed relations with the Liverpool Liners Conference, with which it has been negotiating for several months, regarding the claim to a greater share of ocean freights. The board has been unable to secure satisfaction respecting the demand for participation in the movement of Egyptian cotton, over 50 per cent, of which goes to the United •States.
