WEDDING.
" BROWN—HILDRED. The Stratford Methodist Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Thursday, September 29, when Miss Christian Brown, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Brown, Maketawa, was married to Mr. David Hildred, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Hildred, New Plymouth, the Rev. L. B. Neale officiating. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivo y crepe-de-cliine, overdress of georgette with pale pink trimmings, and finished with pearls, the veil being fastened with sprays of orange blossom,- and carried a bouquet of lilies and frezias. The bride was attended liy her sister, Miss Olive Brown, whose dross was of peach tinted crepe-de-chine, with touche of black, black picture hat with streamers to match. She wore a gold circular pendant, set .with pearls, the present of the bridegroom, and carried a bouquet of pink heather and stocks. Mr. G. R. Smith, of Huirangi, was best man. The party left the church to the strains of the wedding march, played by Mr, Edmondson. At a reception in the Parish Hall, about sixty guests aat. down to a dainty repast. Mrs. T. Wright, of Lepperton, who is over eighty years of age, was amongst the number. Numerous presents were received, also a large number of cheques, showing the esteem in which the parties are held Mr. and Mrs. Hildred left by motor amid hearty good wishes and showers of confetti, the bride travelling in a navy tailored costume and black picture hat.
