NEW ZEALANDER AT HOME. LEADING INMAN. By T&legraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Oct. 5, 9.40 p.m. London, Oct. 5. McConachy, the New Zealander, remarkably recovered during the opening session of the second day of his match with Inman. He showed excellent judgment and a growing mastery of the pace of the ivory balls. His best breaks were 365 and 107. Inman was unlucky, just-failing in good shots. z The closing scores were: McConachy 3049, Inman \ 2532. ’ The Daily News states that what strikes one most about McConachy is his intensity. The universe holds nothing for him when he is playing but cues, balls and table. He rarely changes his mind when once he has determined on a shot and is always out to score, even in cases in which nine out of ten professionals would play for safety. He has a delicate touch and shows confidence both with pique and masse shots, of which he played a number, also scoring some sensational screwbaeks.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
