THE AIRSHIP DISASTER.
EVIDENCE OF A SURVIVOR. CAUSE NOT KNOWN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrigtt. Received Oct. 5, 7.40 p.m. London, Oct. 4. An inquest has been held concerning the disaster to the airship R3B, which recently collapsed over Hull, causing many deaths. Bateman, the scientist on board the airship, stated no defect, as far as he knew, developed during the flight un|til the moment before the final disasI ter, when there were several lateral I shocks, which shook the tail sideways, •as if by some great force. Longitudinal * shocks * followed, and immediately the girders broke. The verdict was that the disaster was accidental, the cause being unknown. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
