The Belfast Parliament has adjourned to December 13, the Speaker having power to call a special meeting if untoward events arise. Sir James Craig (Premier of Northern Ireland) saide ‘Thus far I have received no invitation to the conference in London, but I am willing to participate :f asked, as a refusal would be open to grave misrepresentation in Britain.’ In his speech at Inverness Mr. Lloyd George referred to the Irish conference. He said it would only succeed if those entering it made up their minds definitely and resolutely to trust to the . cotnmonsense of their own people. CONSTABLE SAVAGELY BEATEN. London. Oct. 4. Nine armed masked men entered the house of John Bell, in. Belfast, accused him of being a special constable, and savagely beat him. Bell was sent to hospital.
