Essex, to load, about October 16. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa will leave Onehunga with passengers and cargo this afternoon for New Plymouth, and should arrive here at 5.30 o’clock to-morrow morning. Sl:e Will sail on the return trip at 8.30 p.m. PORT LYTTELTON ARRIVES.
The seventh vessel of the C. • and D. Line (Australian Service of tne Cunard Line) to visit this port, arrived early yesterday morning. the vessel toeing the Port Lyttelton, which left Nelson at 11.10 am. on Tuesday to continue Homeward loading here. The vessel wr.s brought alongside by the harbormaster (Captain Waller) later in the imorning, and berthing operations were completed at 11 o’clock. Tire cargo to be loaded Includes frozen meat, butter, cheese, wool, and several small lines. The small steamer Waverley arrived shortly before noon with a portion of the 15,000 .freight carcases of meat which is coming from Patea, and was tied up on th? outside of the liner for discharging into her. Other cargo is being loaded from the wharf at the same time. The Port Lyttelton was built nt Belfast in 1902, and ter principal dimensions are: Gross register 6444 tons, net. register 4170 tons, length 4«oft. b.p.. breadth 55.2 ft., depth 30.2 ft Captain F. A. Craig-Hall and T. Bolts. KAHIKA WITH CARGO. With 670 tons of cargo from Wellington and Lyttelton, the Kahika arrived yesterday morning at half past. 10 and was berthed an hour later. Discharge will be completed today, and the vessel then goes to Westport and Greymouth. THE HINEMOA. The Government steamer Hinemoa anchored early at New Plymouth yesterday morning, and later sent a boat ashore with a keeper for the Cape E’gmont lighthouse and stores. Tie vessel came from Onehunga, and her next call will be at Stephens Island. CORINNA TO-DAY. The Corinna left Wellington at 2 o’clock yesterday for New Plymouth, and should arrive here to-day. She has cargo from South Island ports and Wellington to discharge, and will probably have to anchor in the stream to await the sailing of the Kahika about noon. RAMA FROM WELLINGTON. Messrs. Collett and Co., Ltd., advise that the Rama was scheduled to leave Wellington at 5 p.m. yesterday for New Plymouth with general cargo for discharge here. She should arrive to-day. f NIAGARA NOT WITHDRAWN. A telegram from Dunedin says that the Union Company has no Intention of withdrawing the Niagara from the Vancouver service. ROYAL MAIL STEAMERS. The Tahiti sailed from Wellington on Tues-, day evening for San Francisco, via Rarotonga and Papeete. The Marama is expected at Wellington on October 15 from San Francisco. The Niagara is to leave Sydney on October 13. and Auckland on October 18, far Vanccuter, via Suva and Honolulu. The Makura Is to leave Vancouver on October 8 for Auckland, via Island ports. She Is due at Auckland on October 28. RIVERINA FOR WELLINGTON. The Riverina is to leave Sydney on Saturday direct for Wellington. She is due at Wellington on October 12, and will sail from Wellington on October 14 for Sydney. THE CANADIAN SPINNER. The Canadian Spinner, now discharging Montreal cargo at Auckland, is due at Wellington to-morrow. PROJECTED DEPARTURES FROM HOME. The C. and D. Line announce that the Port Elliot is to load at Glasgow and Liverpool, leaving the latter port for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, on October 23. The Port Curtis Is to leave London for Auckland and Wellington on November 9. THE CANADIAN CONQUEROR. A wireless message from the Canadian Conqueror,, en route from Adelaide, states that the vessel will arrive at Wellington tomorrow afternoon.
