FIRE IN PARIS.
HUGE STORE DESTROYED/ HEAVY LOSS INVOLVED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Paris, Sept. 28. Fire destroyed the a(agasin du Printemps, a huge store on the Boulevard Haussmann, one of the biggest in the city, an eight-story building with every modern improvement and 26 lifts, employing 5000 hands. Fortunately few employees were on the premises, as the outbreak occurred at 7.50 in the morning. The fire quickly spread over the whole building, and within an hour the front collapsed into the street, an immense cupola crashing down with tremendous noise. A huge force of firemen is fighting the flames. The damage will amount to several million francs. Received Sept. 29, 5.5 p.m. Paris, Sept. 29.
