THE BELFAST RIOTS. BOMBING OUTRAGE. MAY CAUSE REPRISALS. By Telegraph.—Pres* Assn.—Coptflgti London, Sept. 29. Th® official communique regarding Belfast refers only to Monday’s incidents. Sinn Feiners at Belfast ambushed the mourners at the funeral of Alexander Harrison, victim of Sunday’s bombing outrage, while they were returning from the Protestant cemetery. The Sinn Feiners fired a volley at the party and wounded four. On© is dying. The assailants escaped. It is feared the outrage will lead to reprisals and renewed rioting. SENSATIONAL COURT-MARTIAL. ACCUSED ACQUITTED. London, Sept. 28. The Londonderry correspondent of the Daily Telegraph reports a sensational court-martial of two special constables, Griffin and Gilmour, and Bradley, a maimed ex-soldier. They are accused of the murder of three Sinn Feiners in Dromore on April 6 in the course of reprisals following an attack upon special constables, in which a constable was injured for life. A feature of the case was the defence that the prosecution was due to a vendetta. The Sinn Feiners were charging three of their rivals with murder, hoping that they would suffer the death sentence and so 'be quits. The Judge-Advocate said it was not necessary <for the purpose of a vendetta that an acual person should suffer. It was sufficient if a member of the opposing clan or party suffered. A dramatic feature was the Sinn Fein evidence that Bradley was carrying a lantern in his right hand, which the defence proved was the hand that had been maimed in the war. The three accused were acquitted.
