SOLUTION OF PROBLEMS. AMERICA TO LEAD. SOWERS EXCHANGE VIEWS. By Talejrrafch.—Ptms Assn—copyright. Received Sept. 29, 9.30 p.m. Washington, Sept. 28. An exchange of views between the State Department and the Powers invited to the Armament Conference makes it evident that the initiative will devolve largely upon the United States. Diplomats inti* mate that the foreign Governments ex* pect America to present formulae for the solution of armament reduction problems and outstanding Far Eastern questions, and the United States proposals are likely to form the basis for the consideration of the various problems confronting the conference. It is understood a meeting of the American delegation will take place next week for the purpose of mapping out proposals.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. JAPAN’S DELEGATES. PERSONNEL ANNOUNCED. Received Sept. 29, 5.5 pan. Tokio, Sept. 28. It is announced that Japan’s delegation to the Disarmament Conference will consist of Prince Tokugawa, president of the House of Peers.
