SPECIAL LOAN OF £9009. rpHE NEW PLYMOUTH BOROUGH COUNCIL hereby gives public notice that it proposes to borrow the sum of £9OOO by way of Special Loan under “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913.” THE PARTICULAR PURPOSES for which the loan is required are:— To’ provide additions and extensions to the Council’s Electric Lighting and Power Works, including .the enlargement of the tunnel (known as. No. 2 Tunnel) now being constructed or made in connection with such works, the ascertainment by survey inspection or otherwiee of what further water (if any) is available for use by the. said Council in connection with such works or any addition to or extension or development of such works, and upon what terms and conditions as to price and otherwise. the payment of compensation to persons injuriously affected, and for any other purposes incidental or in relation to the abovementioned purposes. The sum proposed to be borrowed for such purposes is £9OOO at a rate of interest not exceeding £5 10s per centum per annum, with a sinking fund of one and one-half per centum additional. The proposed security for the said loan of £9OOO and the interest and sinking fund thereon is an annually recurring special rate of one-fifth of a penny (l/sd) in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the said Borough and it is proposed to repay the said loan on the Ist day of April, 1933. It is proposed to pay out of the said loan the cost of raising the said loan, but hot the interest and Sinking Fund thereon for the first year. (c) The proposed security for the said loan of £lO,OOO and the instalments thereon is an annually recurring special rate of one-seventh of a penny (l/7d) in the pound on the rateable value of ail rateable property in the said Borough of New Plymouth, and provision is made for repayment by means of half-year-ly instalments in 36A years under section 68 of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913.” (d) It is proposed to pay out of the said loan the cost of raising the said Loan and the instalments in respect of interest and principal thereon for the first year.
