IRISH PROBLEM.
REPLY TO DE VALERA. TO BE SENT TO-DAY. GENEROUS TERMS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Sept. 26. The Government is sending a reply to Mr. De Valera on Wednesday. A Coalition member, writing in the Aberdeen Journal, reveals that be? -e submitting the offer to Mr. De Valera, Mr. Lloyd George privately dfisc’osed the full terms to Mr. Asquith. The latter wag so impressed by the generosity of the terms that he immediately assured Mr. Lloyd George of his heartiest approval. LORD NORTHCLIFFE’S VIEW. Melbourne, Sept. 27. Lord Northcliffe. discussing Ireland, expressed the belief that a general election would be the upshot of the negotiations, when the people would register an overwhelming vote against the Irish extremists. IRISH CRIMINALS London, Sept. 2G. Criminals in Ireland are having tin unhappy time between the regular and Sinn Fein police forces. Banda of the latter hunt down highway robbers, burglars. and other malefactors. Prisoners convicted by Sinn Fein tribunals are generally ordered to leave the country.
