FARMERS’ PROBLEMS.
THE BOYCOTT OF ARMOUR'S. By TtflCflroph—l’xeas Association Invercargill, Last Night. Mr. W. J- Polson and Captain Colbeck, president and vice-president respectively of the Dominion Farmers’ Union, addressed a meeting under the auspices of the local branch of the union to-night. Their remarks were on the same lines as their addresses elsewhere in the South Island. Referring to Armour and Co., Mr. Polson expressed some sympathy for the firm, which had come into the open. But they were a trust operating throughout the world, and must be recognised as an enemy. The way to stop them was not by haughty legislation dealing with export licenses. There were other foreign concerns occupying freezing works, and comprehensive legislation was needed. He made a strong appeal for co-operation as the real solution of most of the Dominion’s difficulties.
