CECILIA SUDDEN WRECK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Sept. 24. The wreck of the Cecilia Sudden, which was burned off the Great Barrier on September 8, was smashed up on the rocks at Tryphena during the gale on Wednesday. MAORI ODDFELLOWSHIP. Wellington, Sept. 24. In the reference to the cable from Ottawa stating: “The Grand Lodge of Oddfellows, sitting at Toronto, rejected the motion of Mr. Lucas (Australia) to amend the constitution to permit the admission of Maoris,” the grand secretary of the New Zealand branch of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows states that this does not apply to that order, which has never excluded Maoris from membership if eligible in accordance with the rules. There are Maoris in New Zealand lodges, and they are entitled to all the benefits and privileges of membership. H.M.N.Z.S. CHATHAM. Suva, Sept. 24. H.M.N.Z.S. Chatham returned to Suva yesterday from Lautoka, where she spent a week in gaiety and work. There is a boxing tournament to-night for the ship’s company in Suva town hall. The Chatham sails on Monday for Auckland.
