RIOT IN BELFAST.
SHOOTING RENEWED. TROOPS TAKE PART. Br Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright Received Sept. 25, 11.5 p.m. London, Sept. 24. Renewed rioting occurred at Belfast in the Catholic area of Ballymaccarret. The troops used an armoured car with a Hottchiss gun to dislodge snipers, making the main thoroughfare dangerous. One man was killed, the car running over him. There are contradictory accounts regarding the origin of the trouble. The Westminster Gazette alleges the attack was planned by Orangemen and carried out from five or six positions, the signal for the outbreak being an explosion of a Mills bomb. Catholics then armed to defend themselves.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
