BUBONIC PLAGUE.
A THIRD DEATH. YOUNG GIRL VICTIM. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrlgtt. Brisbane, Sept. 23. A third death is reported of the plague. The victim was a young girl in Townsville. POSITION IN SYDNEY. NO CAUSE FOR PANIC. •Sydney, Sept. 23. Another rat infected with plague has been found on the wharf vacated by the Wyreema. Dr. Armstrong explained that there wae no cause for panic. The outbreak would not be severe, even if it did break out.
AN ISOLATION HOSPITAL. Received Sept. 23, 10.15 p.m. Brisbane, Sept. 23. The Lytton quarantine station is being prepared for use as a plague isolation hospital. No fresh cases have been reported. Hobart, Sept. 23. The health authorities have decided to offer sixpence pet head for dead rats. — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
