Ludendorff, interviewed for the Matin, said a war of revenge against the Allies, particularly France, was impossible, from the viewpoint of military technique, for an indefinite period. The question of the future was whether the peoples of Europe, especially France and Germany, had the will to overcome the hatreds which separated them, and co-operate with the object of renewing the economic life of Europe. If that was impossible the total destruction of Europe was inevitable. The Bolshevik peril was more dangerous than was supposed; he feared an* early revolution.
