CASINO AT TAHITI.
AMERICANS OBTAIN LICENSE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Sept. 20. It was reported from Papeete on September 5 that the French Government had just granted an American company a franchise allowing it to build and operate a drinking palace and casino within two miles of the capital of the Society Islands. The site occupies about 50 acres and is a miniature paradise, surrounded by coral rock and shell. Accommodation for 200 guests will be provided in •the first unit and other units will be added as required. It is unlikely the casino will be opened before ten months hence.
