THE SPRINGBOKS
MESSAGE FROM SOUTH AFRICA.
THANKS FOR HOSPITALITY.
By Telegraph.—Press Association.
Wellington, Last Night. The following cablegram from the South African Rugby Board, addressed to the president of the New Zealand Rugby Union, was received to-day: “ ‘Honors easy’ is probably the most fitting termination to an eventful tour. Trust our men have shown that Rugby Union football can still be played according to its best traditions, and thus foster amateurism. Please accept our best thanks for the generous and unbounded hospitality you and the people of New Zealand have been good enough to accord to our players. Hope to welcome your representatives to the land of the springbok.” SOUTH AFRICA SATISFIED. Capetown, Sept. 19. The result of the final test is regarded here as a fitting conclusion to a magnificent tour characterised throughout by the beet spirit of sportsmanship. Cordial appreciation ie expressed on all aides at the hospitality accorded the Springboks in the sister Dominion, and hopes are expressed that an early opjxrrtunity will be afforded the South Africans of reciprocating and determining •between New Zealand and South Africa the Rugby championship of the world.
