According to a Hartford, Connecticut, message, Senator Lodge, commenting upon a speech by Senator McLean, said he agreed with the latter’s statement to the effect that he was encouraged to believe that disarmament will be possible when man becomes intelligent as well as civilised. Senator Lodge added: “I believe in international disarmament.”—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
