The Daily Telegraph’s Paris correspondent says the cost of the armies of occupation between the armistice and May 1 totals 5,000,000,000 francs, made up thus: America, 278,000.000 dollars; France, 2,304,000,000 francs; Britain. £52,000,000; Belgium, 378,000,000 francs; Italy, 15,000,000 francs.

The daily cost of each soldier works out as follows: America, 4| dollars; Britain, 15s; France, 15J francs; Belgium, 15J francs; Italy, 22 francs.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
