PREHISTORIC RELICS.

FOUND IN LIMESTONE By Telegraph —Press Association. Te Kuiti, Sept. 17. During operations on the Hangatiki Lime Company’s property the workmen discovered in laminated limestone an impression of a huge foot, Lelieved to be that of an enormous prehistoric ani-. mal, larger and distinct from the Moa. The impression is of an elongated foot with four toes almost parallel and thumb-like. The size of the toe has been likened to a human foot with the toes spread. In the same lamination a further discovery was made of a large imprint resembling a cat’s foot. Unfortunately this was badly broken in excavation and rendered valueless. A little distance from the last discovery the skeleton of a Moa was discovered, but unfortunately the bones were carbonised and the specimen crumbled.
