LADIES’ TOURNAMENT. WIN FOR TARANAKI. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmeraton N.. Last Night. Results at the ladies’ hockey tournament to-day were:— Hawke’s Bay A beat Feilding 5 goals to 1.

WairaraZi beat Manawatu A 2 to 0. Taranaki beat Wanganui 2 to 1. Poverty Bay a ye. Manawatu B beat Marlborough 3 to 1. Auckland beat Nelson 3 to 1.

Wellington beat Hawke Bay B 3 to 2. Otago a’bye. The Taranaki and Wanganui elevens were evenly matched and a fast and interesting game resulted. Mieses Perett ("Wanganui) and Kivell (Taranaki) scored for their sides. Taranaki were then awarded a penalty bully. The Wanganui custodian and Miss Hendrickson (Taranaki) were selected for the battle, and after a hard fight the last-named slipped the ball past her opponent and, with a hard shot, scored the winning goal. The teams had a turn at defending and attacking, but the result was not altered.
