Owing to no road access he had to separate his milk at a loss, and also had three miles further to go.—lt was resolved that the engineer visit the road, with a view to giving temporary relief up to an expenditure of £2O. Mr. R. C. Hughes (president of the | Paritutu Protection League) asked the council’s favorable consideration of the importance of united action being taken by local bodies to open up the Mount Egmont quarry, and enclosed a copy of a tetter forwarded to the New Plymouth Harbor Board.—No action. The Hon. E. P. Lee (Minister of Justice), in acknowledging receipt of the council’s tetter complaining that delay occurred in the services of summonses owing to the local constable having to attend the Rahotu district, notified that ■lie would obtain a report upon the matter and consider the representations that had been made. The granting of a slaughterhouse license to Quickenden Bros, was approved. The Treasury Department forwarded voucher for subsidy on rates £1154 Ss »2d. viz., Rahotu Riding £533 ss. Opua -£230 8s 3d, and Oeo £390 14s lid. • The Bank of New Zealand, Opunake. ’■notified that the county overdraft limit 'for the current year was £17,500.
