STRATFORD AGENCY. Advertisements and items of news for publication in tte Taranaki Daily News should be left at the office of our local representatives, Wilson Bros., Broadway, Stratford. A challenge has been received by the secretary of the Stratford Card Club, the champion club in the district, from the Avenue Road Club, champions of New Plymouth, to play a match at Stratford, sixteen players aside, cribbage and euchre, for the championship of Taranaki. The challenge has been accepted, and the match should prove of great interest to all card players. The date has not yet been fixed. At Ngaere last night the Ngaere Card Club defeated a team from the Stratford Druids’ Lodge by a margin of eleven games. The following are the scores, Ngaere names being mentioned first:

J. H. Thomas and R. Walker 8 drew with J. Jones and A. Nelson 8; T. Wilkie and R. Reed 8 beat B. Rowe and W. Ruskin 5; B. Orr and J. W. Thomas 2 lost to A. Lowry and P. Dixon 7; T. Orr and H. Taylor G lost to H. Leitch and B. Jeffares 7; P. Wisneski and W. Moss beat C. Fowler and M. Aagaard 2; J. Thomas, senr., and A. Kneebone 7 beat J. Neal and C. Rogers 6; J. Wisneski and F. Quaye 6 lost to B. Green and W. Wells 9; F. Ticofsky and J. Scott 8 beat A. Burns and P. Pilkington 6; C. Walker 8 beat G. Aaagaard 2. Totals: Ngaere, 70; Druids, 59.

PERSONAL. After a holiday of seven weeks, most of which he spent at Rotorua, Mr. J. D. Murray returned to Stratford last night. Mr. R. Masters, M.P., returned to Stratford from Wellington last night. Stratford residents who are not on the delivery list for the Taranaki Daily News and would like the paper delivered at their homes each morning kindly notify Messrs. Wilson Bros., who are the Stratford agents foFthe Mews.
