FIGHTING IN HUNGARY.

Vienna, Sept. 10. Regular Hungarian troops, supported by cavalry, attacked the village of Agendorf in force, and the Austrians withdrew. Apparently the attack is a prelude to important operations, as eight Hungarian columns are converging on the disputes zone.
JAPANESE TRADE MISSION.

A mission of Japanese business men intends to tour the United States and make known Japanese commodities and business policies, especially during the Armament Conference. The newspapers point out that the mission will "be the background of Japan’s delegation to the conference, and will offer an opportunity for demonstrating Japan’s sincere desire for peaceful progression economically. It is definitely understood that M, Shidehara will 'be a member of the armament delegation. LOAN FOR RELIEF OF DISTRESS. Capetown, Sept. 8. Sir T. W. Martt (Public Works Commissioner) has announced that a substantial Union loan would be floated shortly to alleviate distress.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. WAR MEDALS. London, Sept. 8. Thus far the war office has distributed 348,000 1914 Stars, 1,430,000 1914-15 Stars, 2.847,000 British War Medals, and 2,304,000 Victory Medals. TRAINING IN CITIZENSHIP. London, -Sept. 9. Bishop Weldon’s Committee of the British Association, appointed in 1920, to report on training in citizenship, describes General Sir R.
