INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC.
WAVE SUBSIDING. By Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, Sept. 7. In conformity with the wishes of the Minister of Public Health, a conference was held yesterday between representatives of various local bodies, the Health Department, the Hospital Board and the British Medical Association to discuss what precautions should be taken in the event of a recurrence of the influenza epidemic. The Health Department representative stated, in regard to the Wellington Health District, and the Wellington city that the figures for the 12 week period ended August 29 seemed to indicate a subsidence of thje influenza wave. The British Medical Association representative reported that according to advice based on the experience of members of the association in Wellington there was no need to take any active measures at the present time,* as the information supplied did not warrant any active measures being taken. The meeting adjourned sine die.
