EGMONT LICENSING COMMITTEE.

QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly sitting of the Egmont Licensing Committee was held at Eltham yesterday. The committee comprised Messrs. A. M. Mowlem, S.M. (chairmap), T. P. Hughson, M. O’Brien, R. Innes and A. H. Guy. Mr. Hughson welcomed Mr. Mowlem to tlie licensing district and hoped his stay would be prolonged. Mr. Mowlem. in thanking the committee for their welcome, said that he would endeavor to stay in the district. Work in the south was vigorous. He found the climate of the district very attractive, and would not be in d. hurry to leave.

An application for transfer of license from William Arthur Vivian to Thomas Joseph Liston, of the Waimate Hotel, Mana.ia, was granted. It was decided f that the chairman should view the premises regarding various alterations to the building, with power to act. The application for the transfer from Edward Massey to John William Mills of the license of the Commercial Hotel, Manaia, was granted.
