LONDON WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. London, September 5. At the mixed B.A.W.R.A. and free wool sale merinos sold very well, but were a shade harder than last week. There were very large offerings of crossbreds, and prices were fully maintained. New Zealand, branded "Erewhon" brought top price, 22d, average 21d. Bradford quotations are unchanged, but buy-' ers will not follow the Loudon advance. NEWTON KING, LTD., REPORT. At Douglas on August 29 a full yarding of cattle was submitted to a good attendance of buyers. Enquiry was ilrm and steady throughout, botk' store and dairy rates being quite on a par, and in some eases in advance of those at present ruling. Yearling steers 17s, empty cows £3 Ils, £4, £4 15s, fat steers £5 15s, yearling heifers £2 12s, £2 19s, choice do. £5 ss, £6 Ils, empty heifers £5 10s, in-calf do. £5 ss, £6 17s 6d, springing do. £8 ss, £9 ss, £lO, more forward do. £ll, £l3 ss, springing cows £7 10s, £B, £lO ss, better quality do. £l2, £l4 ss, £l6. At Stony River on August' 30 both store and dairy sections were well filled. Prices on the whole differed little from late sales. There was steady enquiry for all classes, and practically the whole yarding was cleared. Hoggets 7s 3d, yearling steers 20s, 235, 2-year-old do. £2, 3-year do. £;3 17s, store cows 17s, 255, forward do. £5 2s Gd, fat do. £7 2s 6d, empty cows £5 12s Gd, £7 10s. yearling heifers 27s Gd, £2 ss, £3 2s, better quality do. £3 18s Gd, £5 15s, Jersey do. £7, £7 7s Gd to £9 15s, pedigree Friesian do. 12gns, empty heifers £4 10s, £4 18s 6d, springing heifers £9, £l2 15s, springing cows £9 10s, £lO, £l2, better sorts £l5 10s, £l6 10s, pedigree Friesian 2-year-old heifer 36%gns. At Waiwakaiho on September 1 a full yarding of store and dairy cattle camo forward, and almost everything sold. In the store • section good yearling heifers. Jerseys especially, were still in Lot demand, whilst dairy cattle of good quality realised, good prices. The sale on the whole was a good one.
