Or tiers for papers may also be left with them. OBITUARY. September 5. The death occurred suddenly at Nelson on Saturday of Mr. George 11. Guppy, an old Stratford High School boy, whose parents at present reside at Stanley Road. Mr. Guppy, who was only 23 years of age, attended the Stratford High School for four years, and during that time he obtained his senior free place and passed the junior civil service examination. He entered the Public Trust Office, at Wellington, at the age of 16, later passing the senior civil service, and after five years at Wellington he was transferred to Timaru, and from there to Nelson, where he held the position as cashier. He was highly esteemed by officers of his department and showed great promise in his work. PERSONAL. Mr. R. Masters, M.P., leaves for Wellington to-morrow morning and will be away until the end of the week. Mr. C. Jackson is expected to return to Stratford this evening from a trip to Auckland and the Waikato. Matron Patrick, who is at present travelling through New Zealand on a tour of inspection of the Plunket branches, will meet the Stratford members to-morrow. Matron Patrick was chosen by Dr. Truby King as organising nurse for his English campaign, and she did excellent work.
